Rhinos (Worldlife Library Series)

Man is the only one that’s causing the rhino’s numbers to lower. It’s because of something called poaching that is having the Rhino decline in numbers. Man Is taking their horns and selling it? It’s valuable because it has great medical value. How do these myths get started.

Kids, think of this beast like the size and weight of your Dad’’s pick up truck with legs! They have to be big for the job they were given to do.

Cool Fact (Keystone Species)

Yes indeed. I can’t wait to share this neat wild animal fact with you! Rhinos are cool because they also are a keystone species. What does that mean? Well, they eat things that other species can’t eat like bushes and roots.

This allows the grasses to flourish and grow. Other herbivores, “grass eaters,” then have an abundance of grass to eat. Can you see how important that is? This species that’s built like your dad’s truck with legs is responsible for other animals survival.

A Myth Got Started

Here’s the deal, a myth got started long ago that the rhino’s horn has medical powers. Come on, cant’ people just leave me alone to do what I do out here?

The Truth is, my precious horn is made of the same material as your finger nails! We need to learn all we can about me. Why? Well, my numbers are getting pretty small out here. People care, and I’m glad you do too

Yes indeed. People Take My Horns And Sell Them. I love my horns because I dig with them, and pull up roots and bushes.

Man is the only one that’s causing the rhino’s numbers to lower. With a change of heart, will simply let this species go right being the important species that they are! The Keystone Species!
