Sharks, It’s All In The Tail My Friend

Did you know the reason the shark is so important in the ocean? Let’s explore.
There’s nothing quite like a kid that is passionate about something. Just imagine. When you and your kids learn why the sharks have immense value, they can share that with their friends, and maybe even a leader! And if a lot of kids get enthused, the sharks will be around for a long to come.
This is the Tiger Shark. Check this out! This is amazing. Sharks have different kinds of tails because they are assigned different jobs in the ocean.
Take the tiger shark for instance. It needs to move slowly for cruising, and sudden burst of power and speed. This shark has to do a lot of twist and turns. Why is that important?
Well, lets look at what they eat:
This shark is great at eating things like, like fish, seals, and birds. Oh, and don’t forget squids and turtles. Turtles! Yeah, I know I love the guys just as much as you. If the turtle is not eaten, then they’re too many species that the turtle is supposed to eat. Its all part of the balance my friend.
The Tail makes the Difference
Kids, the design of the tail are why the tiger shark is great at catching these ocean critters. I also read that this shark will eat pretty much anything, like tires and car license plates. And this guy can grow to 11 to 17 feet and weigh as much as 1700 lbs. That is huge!

Some sharks’ replace their teeth, up to 30,000 in they’re life- time! They have a conveyor belt of them. If only we had that feature, because we would be able to say, look mom, no cavities! Why would they need so many teeth? They eat things. Look at how the teeth are made? This species figured how to live well in the ocean.
KeyStone Species
Did you know they are a keystone species? A what? If you’ve read my stuff, I mention this a lot. The sharks eat things, and they are the professionals. They eat other species like squid or fishes and turtles to name a few. And just what happens if a certain shark is not around to eat? Well, then, too many of something else will take over. And that’s when things get out of whack. This is why I’m asking you to get enthused about sharks. I’ll share below just what you can do with your parents help as far as taking some action.
Cool, the Mako shark!
This is the short fin mako shark. This is one of my favorite sharks. It can swim at speeds of thirty plus miles an hour! That is way fast underwater dude. Why do they swim so fast? Well, I’m sure they eat things that swim at that speed.
This shark is amazing to read about. They eat things that swim fast like tuna, mackerel, and the great swordfish. But they also eat porpoises, sea turtles and seabirds. Remember, it’s all about balance.
Plus, they have a way of keeping they’re body warmer with the use of some red muscle that’s located near the center of its body. And this generates heat. If they didn’t have this feature, they could not swim, catch and eat what its made to do.

I thought about what else could help people to know what’s going on with sharks. I thought a stuffed animal that a kid could take with them. The kids that learn, the better off the sharks will be. It’s all about giving this species a voice.

Making A Difference
Kids, the shark has been on our planet for at least four hundred million years. They will be gone in five if we do not act together. I have signed a bunch of them. Just be for a shark when you write. I thank you, and so do the sharks.

What is that? Ok, so a fishing boat tosses a line out with a lot of hooks. And, this line goes out a long distance from the boat. So they pull the line in and they catch all kinds of different species from the ocean. And sharks are caught this way too.
